Oceanside Golf Cars Doubled Sales: The Owner's Story

Oceanside Golf Cars Doubled Sales Before Peak Season: What the Owner Said

Oceanside Golf Cars in Surfside Beach, South Carolina was selling about 10 carts a month, maybe 15 to 17 at the peak of the season. A couple of months after going live with Cart Launch, the owner was in the mid-20s with eight days left in the month and expecting to pass 30, before peak season had even started. He sat down on camera and walked through what changed. This is what he said, in his own words, with nothing added.

Who is Oceanside Golf Cars?

A golf cart dealership in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, a few minutes down the coast from Myrtle Beach. How we work with other dealers in the state is on golf cart dealer marketing in South Carolina.

The owner is 56. He has been in business almost five years. In his words, it started as “kind of a semi-retirement plan, but now it’s turned into a full-time thing. It’s gotten a lot bigger and a lot better than I anticipated.”

Peak season for him runs “probably starting May through September.” The interview was recorded before that season began.

What was Oceanside Golf Cars selling before Cart Launch?

“An average of 10 probably, at a good most maybe 15 to 17 during peak season.”

He was clear that the dealership was not in trouble. “Things weren’t stale. They weren’t stagnant. We were just kind of like, you hit a peak or plateau and it’s tough to get over that next goal.”

That is the dealer we build for. Not a business that needs saving. A good dealership that wants to see how far it can go.

What was the owner struggling with?

The online side. He said it plainly.

“We were struggling with the whole social media, AI, Facebook, all that social media ad stuff. Me being 56 years old, it’s a little difficult to grab, put my hands around it. I really needed to have some guidance or have somebody take that to the next step.”

He had also been watching the dealers around him. “I was looking at what my competitors were doing, and some competitors that were successful, and how frequently I saw stuff pop up on social media. I wasn’t quite there and I needed to be there.”

What results did Oceanside Golf Cars see?

Doubled sales, by his count, and he was careful about how he said it.

“If you take one year ago, that last month, we did double in sales. But I’d like to say it was 100% on you guys, I can’t say that for sure, because last year we had that whole evolution come down, so that kind of took away some sales, I believe. But I honestly feel your input and your company is a good portion of that.”

On the month in progress: “It’s only the 22nd, which gives us another eight days, and we probably will exceed 30 if things keep going the way they are. We’re already in the mid-20s.”

Zach pointed out that this was more than twice the 10 to 15 he had been doing this time last year, and that peak season had not started. “Nope. We haven’t even gotten there.”

How did the lead flow change at the dealership?

“We’re getting a good amount of leads. Phone rings a lot. I get a lot of emails. Get a lot of people saying, ‘I saw your ad.’”

One buyer stuck with him. “I had one gentleman, he’s like, ‘I kept seeing your ad. I kept seeing your ad. I kept seeing your ad. It was getting relentless. I’m like, all right, I got to go there.’”

Not everyone calls first. “I get some people that won’t call because they’re not call type of people. They’ll just look at it and go, ‘Yeah, I saw your ad for like the last month and now we’re here.’ No phone call, no nothing. Just show up.”

And the day to day: “I’m a little overwhelmed sometimes because there’s like 10 messages where there was only like one or two. It’s go time from the time I get there to the time I leave.”

What was he unsure about at first?

That it was one more pitch. He gets them all day.

“You get constant emails, you get text messages: hey, I can make your business grow, I can do this for you. I kind of just thought it was just another pitch.”

So he checked. “I did my research on you guys, found out who you were, where you came from, what you were about, and that’s when I decided to have an interview with you guys, and you guys came down, we talked.” He wanted to be sure “you weren’t two guys out of college saying, hey, we got an idea, let’s see if we can run with this. Didn’t want to be the guinea pig.”

On the money: “Whether I spent 20 grand or two grand, if I get a good return on that investment, it’s worth it.”

Why did he pick Cart Launch over other marketing companies?

Because we came from inside the business.

“You have a golf cart industry background, which I believe 100% helped. If you guys were just some marketing guys, you basically have marketing templates that you use for every business and you kind of just customize it a little bit based upon the industry. You guys are just totally golf cart.”

Between the owners there is 14+ years operating in 8-figure golf cart dealerships. That is the whole reason the company exists, and it is what he was describing.

What was it like working with Cart Launch?

“It’s been very good. I tried to take a lot of this stuff off my plate and put it on yours, and you guys did it. If I need to change something or get in touch, you picked up the phone.”

Asked to sum up what Cart Launch had done for the dealership in one sentence: “Has taken it to the next level.”

And the honest side effect: “It’s made my wife pissed off because I’m at work more often. From the end of May till September it was like, yeah, I get it, we’re busy. But this whole busy season really started early this year because of it, I believe.”

Would he recommend it to other dealers? “Absolutely. I would definitely recommend it.”

What can another golf cart dealer take from this?

Three things, and none of them are about Oceanside specifically.

First, a plateau is not a problem with the dealership. He had inventory, a showroom, a reputation and five years of customers. What he did not have was a way to get in front of local buyers before they searched, and a place for those buyers to shop when they did. That is the gap we fix first, and it is why we build golf cart dealer websites around inventory before we spend a dollar creating demand.

Second, buyers arrive in more than one way. Some call. Some email. Some just walk in and say they saw the ad. If the only lead you count is a form fill, you are undercounting what is working.

Third, the season came early. He did not wait for May. The best dealers are not waiting for the market anymore. They are creating their own.

This is one dealer’s account, in his own words, and no two dealerships are the same. We do not promise a number. If you want to know what we would look at first in your store, the process is the same for everyone, and it starts on our golf cart dealer marketing page. More dealer results, on video and in writing, are on our results page, and the most detailed one is the 72 aged golf carts in 45 days case study.

If your dealership is on a plateau like his was, book a call. We look at your site and your market before we talk, and you get the findings either way.

FAQ

Questions dealers ask about this story

Straight answers to the things you’re probably wondering before we talk.

Who is Oceanside Golf Cars?

A golf cart dealership in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, near Myrtle Beach. The owner has been in business almost five years; it started as a semi-retirement plan and became a full-time business. He is a Cart Launch dealer partner and told his story on camera in April 2026.

How many carts was Oceanside Golf Cars selling before and after?

In his words: an average of about 10 a month before, maybe 15 to 17 in peak season. In the month of the interview he was in the mid-20s with eight days left and expected to exceed 30, before peak season had started. He described it as doubling sales versus the same month a year earlier.

Did the owner credit Cart Launch for all of it?

No, and he said so. He said he could not say it was 100% on Cart Launch because the prior year had been affected by other things, but that “your input and your company is a good portion of that.” We would rather publish that than a cleaner quote.

What was the dealer unsure about before signing up?

That it was just another pitch, like the emails and texts he gets every day. He researched who Cart Launch was and where the owners came from, then met in person before deciding. He did not want to be “the guinea pig.”

Will my dealership double sales like this?

We do not promise that, and neither did he. This is one dealer’s account in his own words. Results depend on your market, your inventory, your team and how the work gets done. What we can promise is that we look at your dealership before we talk and tell you what we would fix first.

Where can I see more Cart Launch dealer results?

On the results page, where six dealers tell their stories on video, and in the written 72-carts-in-45-days case study. Each dealer story on this site is written from the dealer’s own recorded words.
